During the first lesson of the Twister Tool Technique class, Colleen will cover the materials needed, fabric selection and color considerations as well as border options. She will also be walking you through the process using the larger tool, but four smaller versions along with a variety of patterns are available for future projects.
During the second lesson of the Twister Tool Technique class, Colleen will teach you about color placement considerations, and you will learn how to arrange the squares, create the first grid, and add the first border.
During the third and final lesson of the Twister Tool Technique class, Colleen will show you how to correctly place the Twister tool, properly cut blocks, join blocks to create rows, join rows to create your unique patchwork quilt top and add borders that fit to perfection.

Colleen Tauke is a quilter, designer, and quilt educator with 40+ years of sewing experience. Of those, the last 17 years have been focused around quilting. Early in her quilting endeavors, she was challenged to piece a quilt that seemed daunting. Fussy cutting, Y-seams, strip piecing, hourglass blocks, a pieced border, and appliqué—all in ONE quilt. This was her first bed sized quilt that would later become a quilt shop sample and win third-place at the Iowa State Fair in the “My First Quilt” division. Since then, she was hooked!
