. People love dovetails They're this pinnacle of woodworking that a lot of people strive for. Who among us hasn't opened the drawer and peeked inside to see if in fact the drawer was put together with dovetails. A real common approach for making dovetails is to use a router-base dovetail jig. Now, they sure simplify the process, but there are tricks and techniques that make using a router-base jig easier and more effective, so that's what we wanna talk about. Here, we wanna make sure that as you work through half-blind dovetails, you're getting the bit set up correctly and material in the jig correctly. We're gonna talk about working with materials of like thickness, of dissimilar thickness. We're gonna work on a four-sided box, and this affects how you do the layout on the pieces to make sure that you're getting all the parts identified correctly, so there's only one right way they can go in the jig and you don't get pieces flip-flop. We're gonna look at through dovetails, make sure you get those cut correctly if your jig allows it. Give you those tricks as well. Also, we're gonna talk about just setting up the jig and setting up the router, some lubrication tips that are gonna make everything go a lot better on the jig. So, even if you don't own this particular model, there are a lot of similarities from router-jig to router-jig. You're gonna be able to get a lot out of this DVD in order to make sure that you have a great understanding of how to do half-blind and through dovetails on a router-base jig.
