I wonder whether Heather is familiar with the term "wabi sabi?" It is a Japanese term that means the charm and joy of the imperfect. I refer to it frequently with my Knitting students. It is also a great idea to have in mind for quilters, as well!
Great mix of tips, from basics to more in depth. You can always learn something new. Thanks!!
This was wonderful, great information and lots of questions from new quilter,as that is what I am. So thank you so much, Mary

How would you clean a carded wool quilt thats 40 + years old
I am trying to just straight stitch to quilt my quilt. The fabric drags and I get very short stitches. I've tried using the walking foot and a regular foot to see if it makes a difference. The walking foot seems to be worse but I know I should use it. I've tried varying the tension to no avail. What should I do? I've also changed needles, rethreaded, used a different needle, etc. (when I tried using a double needle I could never get the tension right.).
I have a seam on my crazy quilt that is coming apart from sitting on it. Is there an easy way to fix it without taking the quilt apart?
